I Talk a Lot.

For the better part of the last year, I’ve been traveling the country, speaking to and teaching the 54 states and territories of the National Guard how to use social media as a marketing and recruitment tool.

Yes, I *do* have the coolest job ever.

To date, I’ve given on-site social media training presentations to the:

Arizona Army National Guard | Connecticut Army National Guard | Delaware Army National Guard | D.C Army National Guard | Maine Army National Guard | Maryland Army National Guard | Massachusetts Army National Guard | New York Army National Guard | Rhode Island Army National Guard | Utah Army National Guard | Washington Army National Guard | Wisconsin Army National Guard

I also led a two-day social media training conference at the National Guard’s End Strength Summit in April, which representatives from all 54 states and territories attended. In addition to the strategic training and hands-on application sessions, we developed a 100 page step-by-step Guidebook, SOPs for community management and promotional content, tracking and other technical instruction, and more.

Simply put, it rocked.

Beyond the Guard, I work on social media strategy (blogging, Facebook, Twitter, and more) and community management with clients in the hospitality, sports and celebrity acquisition, retail, and nonprofit industries.

I recently spoke at the D.C. Humanities Council’s “ABC’s of DC: Americans, Blogs, and Culture“, the Baltimore SMC’s panel on “Blogging and Social Media“, Digital EastCrushIQ in DC, and on the first ever Twitter cruise, #SeaTweetup.

Hit me up to speak about:

  • Blogging (corporate and personal)
  • Building a personal brand
  • Leveraging social media in your career
  • Community management
  • Social media and the government/defense
  • Social media and nonprofits
  • Social media and hospitality

And I love that Guest commenting gives me a Ron Swanson avatar. Nicely done.

I had no idea you were doing all of this!!! Kudos to you! I love your new page, seems like the perfect, professional place to share all the cool stuff you’re working on.

Thank you! I’m inclined to agree (but almost certainly biased). ;-)

A long way since the IMF days! Here I am as a diplomat’s wife in Asia (doesn’t that make my “I don’t work right now” status seem a lot cooler?) and there you are traveling all over the place doing cool stuff! Awesome!

True story, lady. I keep comparing what I’m doing now to “this time last year”… oy. Suffice to say, a lot has changed (and thank the baby Jesus for that). <3
